What is the best way to fix a broken nail without it looking too obvious?

I smashed my hand into a wall yesterday and the white part of my fingernail is literally hanging by a thread. I put a band aid on it for protection but my finger has already gone white (and I didn't do it very tight). Any ideas how I could try and fix it?What is the best way to fix a broken nail without it looking too obvious?

Grab a nail file and file it down. You can't ';fix'; a broken nail really. I know it may be shorter but it'll soon grow again!
