Is it still necessary to trim a parakeets nail and beak when it has cuttlebone and sandpaper perch?

if i give my parakeet a cuttlebone and a sandpaper perch, would i still need to get its nails and beak trimmed? Is it still necessary to trim a parakeets nail and beak when it has cuttlebone and sandpaper perch?
A beak overgrowing to the point that it needs to be filed is rare. Most people need to have their birds beak trimmed at all.

Get rid of the sandpaper perches, they can harm the feet. Just make sure that you have several perches with different texture, sizes.

For the nails, they do need clipping from time to time. You can learn to do it yourself or you can have a vet office show you. Just have some cornstarch ready in case of bleeding. It stops the bleeding immediately. If you have never done it, I wouldn't recommend doing it alone.

I had the vet show me and I've been doing the nails every since. Is it still necessary to trim a parakeets nail and beak when it has cuttlebone and sandpaper perch?
Each bird is different.

If the beak or claws start over growing, have them cut.
When it is on the perch, see if any of the nails complete a full circle and touches the back end of the bird feet. If it does, you must clip them. This applied to canary.

could not find a picture. i hope you understand.
