I got nail polish on my Brown Leather sofa, would it be safe to put nail polish remover on it to get it off?

Black nail polish on brown leather, YIKES, any suggestions if the nail polish remover isn't safe?I got nail polish on my Brown Leather sofa, would it be safe to put nail polish remover on it to get it off?
use acetone free nail polish remover and remember it must be acetone free..... apply with a cotton que tip but I would do a spot check on the back of the sofa first. but I think this is the only solution to your problem. good luckI got nail polish on my Brown Leather sofa, would it be safe to put nail polish remover on it to get it off?
Well: according to '; Clean the Leather Sofa you can use

Leather %26amp; Vinyl Protectant yes it Cleans that alot better ';
NO DON'T USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER! It will make the problem SO much worse.

Wow this is bad, you need to talk to a professional. Try calling a leather expert; dry cleaners who clean leather or a store like Wilson's that sells leather. My best guess is they will tell you to patch it.
Nail polish remover will destroy the leather.

If it's dry try to crack it off by squeezing the leather in lots of different angles, eventually the nail polish will crack then just pull it off.

Then try leather cleaner to get what soaked into the leather.
oh no don't do thant.try useing cold water.
Please do not try nail varnish remover or any other solvent as this will remove finish and possibly colour from the leather.

You may be lucky and find that it peels off depending what type of leather you have. If it does it may still leave a mark or remove the colour.

Nail varnish remover will definitely remove the pigment from your suite as well as the nail varnish, you will then have another difficult problem to resolve. No available cleaners for leather will remove this type of damage so you have to resort to solvents which like the nail varnish remover will remove pigment. Therefore this is a job for a trained leather technician.

Contact LTT on 01423 881027 to find a trained technician in your area if you are in the UK. Please be warned that any DIY remedies you find WILL damage your leather and it is best left to the professionals.

I would try a leather cleaner...I dont' think nail polish remover sounds too good. If you need to, spot test it somewhere where it won't be seen, but I think special leather cleaner would be the best. Good luck!
no, nail polish remover would wreck it. but I don't know another alternative
definitely not...Nail polish remover will leave a big dull spot..Best thing to do is call a pro and ask what is safe.
Fingernail polish remover contains a chemical called Acetone. I don't think it will hurt the leather, maybe a little discoloration and could dry it out a little in that spot but it will work. Try it.
I'd try getting a leather dye that matches your couch, and rub it over the stain.
i wouldn't take a chance use a leather cleaner
