What nail oil brand would I use under false nails, and where do I get it?

A professional nail technician on this board answered my question about avoiding brittle, tearing nails after taking false nails off, by suggesting nail oil. Would anyone know what brand of nail oil I should use, and how it should be applied? What nail oil brand would I use under false nails, and where do I get it?
Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream is a fantastic ';nail oil'; it helps seal the cuticles, and strenghthens your actual nail. It's about $5, and you just basically scoop a little from the container and apply it to your cuticles and nails before bed... I also apply it sometimes throughout the day because it is not actually ';oily'; at all. You'll LOVE it, and it lasts forever. You can try burtsbees.com, or any local drug store that carries burts bees :)What nail oil brand would I use under false nails, and where do I get it?

I spray painted my bike but i can scratch it with my nail?

Im going to put clear coat on it in like a couple days but will it make it so it wont scratch off easily.I spray painted my bike but i can scratch it with my nail?
You need to sand the bike and then spray paint it with Auto Body paint. (You can buy this at Auto shops.)

This paint is smells a lot, so spray your bike outside.

Auto body paint is very durable and made for metal. If it can stay on a car, it will stay on your bike.I spray painted my bike but i can scratch it with my nail?
Your best bet is obviously to have it professionally painted. Powder coating looks great!

But if you can't afford it and want to paint it yourself:

DO NOT SPRAY PAINT YOUR BIKE!

DON'T TRY TO SAND IT because you will just mess it up. Clean it really good and then paint over the factory paint.

If you tried to paint it already and messed up buy chemical paint stripper from the hardware store and strip the bad paint job off.

Buy 1SHOT paint (You can buy this at any art supply store.) and hang your bike frame from a hook then paint your bike frame with a brush for the best DIY paint job.

2 coats of 1 shot with 24 hours between coats then wait 42 hours before riding your bike.

1Shot comes in tons of colors and can be prepped for a glossy or matte finish.

It will get pretty hard and you won't have to worry about chipping or peeling.
what you should do is sand the bike first with some fine grit sand paper like 200 or 400 grit. that way with the frame scuffed up the paint will be able to stick better to the frame...the clear coat wont need to be sanded.
It just hasn't hardened. It depends on the qualities of the clear coat you are using as to its scratch resistance.
fine sand paper
you should have sanded it first.
u needed to sand and prime it before paint then clear coat after the paint is dry to the touch
u should have sanded it then primed it so the paint would stick

  • I had a wee accident and lost the bottom half of my nail. Will it grow back or grow completely off in the end?

    I did this last year.

It gradually grew back and is now so good as new I can't see which one it was.

The most dodgy part was as the remains of the old ';nail'; was being pushed forward by the new growth and it was loose and liable to be snagged. So I had to keep trimming it and for a while I wore a finger stall as I know it would really hurt if I caught it!

Can't remember how long now but it took several months from accident to back to normal! I had a wee accident and lost the bottom half of my nail. Will it grow back or grow completely off in the end?
    wait, what?

so the bottom of our nail is gone? what about the top?

Incidentally, they will grow back but it will take months for it to get to a healthy length, like about 4 or so millimeters above the point of your finger. It will be painful depending on what you did but make sure you treat it and keep it safe from bacteria and infection.

Hope that helped.I had a wee accident and lost the bottom half of my nail. Will it grow back or grow completely off in the end?
It will probably come off. It can take up to six months to totally replace a nail. But being a girl, you can just get a fake one to cover it, if you would like.
Nails only grow outwards. Assuming you still have the top half of the nail, you may have to have it removed if it doesn't fall off itself.
Ouch. The top half will have to fall off first. That is the painful bit. It will then heal and a completely new nail will grow back. Might take some time though. Have you had it checked out by your doctor or nurse?
it will grow back, just keep it clean, lubricated, and covered so it doesn't get infected.
    it'll fall itself...ciao...
You had a ';wee'; accident? You poor old thing.

only the damaged part will grow back
    !!??eeW
u need to get the whole nail off for it to grow back properly

Can you make a nail magnetic by hitting it with a hammer?

I'm pretty sure that in my senior physics class we did an experiment where, when putting a nail at a certain direction and hitting it with a hammer, it would become magnetic. So far I have searched and tried to find this information and as of yet have not found it again. I can only seem to find information about knocking a magnetized nail out of it's magnetized state. So I'm hoping someone can find this information for me and please if possible give a source!!!

Thanks everyoneCan you make a nail magnetic by hitting it with a hammer?

Is it better to cut your nails before nail polishing?

If you want to put nail polish, especially clear nail polish, would you want to paint it after cutting the white part of the nails or would you want to paint it after leaving the nails to grow long? Why? Thanks. Is it better to cut your nails before nail polishing?
    either, it doesnt really matter.

just make sure that they're all the same length, shape and size.

darker colours look best on short square nails

a french manicure is more appropriate for long nails.

and dont forget a clear top coat for protection and longer wear!Is it better to cut your nails before nail polishing?
    Clip first, nail polish after.

If you put nail polish first, then clip, itll chip off the polish

How to safely remove nail polish off fabric without destroying it?

I got nail polish inside my Louis Vuitton. How to safely remove nail polish off fabric without destroying it?
The purse isnt ruined anyway because it's inside the bag.....The polish remover shouldnt hurt the inside fabric at all. I've done it before. If there's still a stain left over after try one of those tide brand sponge stain remover things. I used them b4 to get a stain off from outside my LV bag.How to safely remove nail polish off fabric without destroying it?
I like the suggestion to contact Louis Vuitton directly...that way, if something goes wrong then they will be responsible for the damages.

Acetone (nail polish remover) is about the only thing that will get it out. You first need to make sure that the lining is cotton because if it is a synthetic fabric then the remover may very well disintegrate the fabric %26amp; leave a hole.

On the upside, the polish is inside of the bag. It is hopefully not too obvious in the first place.
Before you do anything else, I'd talk to Vuitton: https://wws.louisvuitton.com/web/html/yo鈥?/a>

    They have a repair service
O.K. I know some of you will think I'm a jerk, but I just can't resist. Do you want to save the fabric, or the nail polish?

I cut my finger through my nail. It's stopped bleeding, but is there anything else i should do?

at this point a good band aid, maybe some extra tape. They can't stitch through a nail. Your most likely going to loose part of that nail but it will grow back. I've nearly hacked off my left pointer finger from the top side (moon side) 3/4 the way down, lost the smaller part of the nail, but it came back.I cut my finger through my nail. It's stopped bleeding, but is there anything else i should do?
wash it with some medical disinfectant like Dettol.I cut my finger through my nail. It's stopped bleeding, but is there anything else i should do?
you might wanna dab with some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide..be sure to use a q-tip if possible.
just make sure to wash it well with warm water and mild soap.

apply some neosporin to help ward off infection and cover with a bandaid. change it at least twice a day or whenever it comes in contact with germs (food, dirt, etc).

watch it for signs of infection

    -increased redness to cut area

-the cut begins to drain liquid (especially if green or yellowish-brown in color)

-the cut becomes more tender, painful,or hot to touch

-you begin to run a fever of 100.5 or higher

if you have any of these symptoms-make an appt to see your dr. you'll need antibiotics to clear it up

    good luck
wash your hand with soup and running water..then wipe it with clean dry towel... then put some medicine on it..
just disinfect it if not leave it alone it will sting but it will go away
get a piece of clean cloth, make sure that it is a dry cloth. then tie it on the infected area so that the dleeding should stop. it will minimaze the blood from bleeding.

  • Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?

my theory is: zombies do exist and we nail down the lid as a safety precaution. that's also why we bury them so deep. so if they get through the nails, there's 6 feet of dirt blocking the pathWhy is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
Zombies will always make their way to get brains, and there is nothing you can do to prevent this. Just be better at head shots as this is the only solution to Zombies. Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
I think we nail the lid shut so it doesn't pop open during the burial, and we bury them deep so one can't easily dig them back up and so we can't smell the stink.
To keep water and other things from getting inside the coffin. and they're burried so deep so that if it rains and floods the coffins won't rise up out of the ground

How long does it take for an iron nail submerged into water to fully rust?

I just wanna have a basic idea of how fast it can fully rust. I appreciate if you give a substantial answer :)How long does it take for an iron nail submerged into water to fully rust?
Iron, submerged in water will corrode but not necessarily RUST as rusting can only occur when in contact with the air,(oxygen).Rusting is ... oxidization. therefore it would depend on how deep the nail was or much the water was moved ....creating oxygen.

My cousin swollowed a nail and it wont come out. He is really scared what should I tell him?

ummm, maybe he should go to the hospital. My cousin swollowed a nail and it wont come out. He is really scared what should I tell him?
it will pass through the natural way. i am sure that the doctors explained that to you when they saw it on the xray.

my husband swollowed a needle when he was younger and he pass it in his stools.

    that is men for you:)
When he hears a clink in the pan the nail will be out if a little rusty. Nothing to worry about
Its possible that his stomach acids will dissolve it.If not? Tell him to be carefull when wiping his ****.Extra strong loo paper might be an idea too. Maybe Izal,. [if you remeember that stuff?],would be an idea :P
well they might have to go in and get it! or let it take it's corse down the ';tunnels'; and he can poop it out! It has been done before!
Ram a magnet up his ar*e tied to a piece of string it should do the trick, if it doesnt he may find he likes it anyway
Was the doctor like omg yeah we can see a nail but like yeah we wont do anyfink cos like am I bovered
What YOU should have done immediately is tie a piece of string to a magnet get him to swallow it and retract the nail, easy when you know how.
swallow a magnet with some string on..........if ur american, please note that was a joke
Well, if he's been x-rayed and they didn't do anything, then he probably doesn't need to worry.
I would think there would be a danger of the nail poking a hole in his intestines or colon. If that happens he is in for a lot of trouble.

Surly if it showed on the x-ray, the doctor knows the danger.

I hope every thing works out OK for him, but if it were me, I'd be worried. He could end up with a colostomy and that's not fun.

God be with you and him.
    WOW! You need help lady!
if he went to the doctor then the doctor has told him everything he needs to know
if they doctor did nothing then he obviously thinks in time the nail will pass through his system naturally
If it is a large metal nail, then it probably needs to be removed, as if it has a sharp point, it will not come out very naturally! But if its a small (a centimetre perhaps) nail, then it may come out naturally, but with some pain. It is best to get it removed though, as the point is probably sharp.
unless it's causing him an obstruction in his airway, then it's fine it will probably pass out when he uses the toilet
    he will be okay
It will come on out if it has passed his actual stomach. That is the general rule: if it passes through the stomach, it will pass through the intestines.
    was he board?

Tell him to eat a big magnet.

    hit him with a hammer.

get a saw and cut it out.
    Hold tight and be brave.....
He should eat concrete next time...sounds like he is sh!tting bricks now.
tell him hes dumb for doing it. That could kill him. Its also going to hurt when it comes out in several years.
    Tell him to get screwed
jesus thats gonna hurt like HELL if it does pass through the rare end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ouch!
i...don't....know. i would think the doc would suggest going to the hospital to have it removed.
tell him to go out and get hammered!

Is it okay to substitute regular nail polish with acrylic paints?

Is it alright for the nails to do that as long as a base coat is first applied?

Thanks! Is it okay to substitute regular nail polish with acrylic paints?
Acrylic paint will not work on fingernails or toenails. No matter if you use a base coat, top coat or a billion coats. Acrylics paints are basically pliable plastics. It will just peel off. Nail polish is enamel based. Ya 'know like model airplane/car paint. Testors is the brand name. They come in little bottles. BUT I don't think use should use that on your nails either!!! Seriously, what's the problem with just using nail polish? That's what it's made for!

Isn't that just so painful when you are pulling off a bit of long nail and it starts tearing downwards and you cant pull any further as its agony. ooooo I have that nowWhen you pick a nail and it starts tearing downwards?

How does a ';Nail buffer'; work ? I mean, does it put a waterproof layer on the nail, just like nail polish?

How does the nail get the shine from the buffer? Is there a coat of paint like transparent nail color? How does a ';Nail buffer'; work ? I mean, does it put a waterproof layer on the nail, just like nail polish?
A nail buffer is like fine sand paper . you rub it on your nails and it gets rid of all the ridges . most buffers have four sides. the first side of the block is to shape your nail basicly a nail file. the second side is to get rid of the ridges on your nail , you rub this side on your nails until the ridges have gone , the third side smooths your nails , it gets rid of all the scratches and becomes very smoorth and the last side is lyk a rubbery side that pollishes your nails and you get really shiny results . with a good block buffer your nail look as if you have used a clear shiny top coat when you havent .However on of the downsides is that this doesnt usually last very lond because your nails get scratched very quickly and they become more rough and lose the shine. this also takes a long tym to do. hope i helped!!How does a ';Nail buffer'; work ? I mean, does it put a waterproof layer on the nail, just like nail polish?
well, the first side smooths out the ridges on your nail. The second side massages your nails, which improves blood circulation. This helps make nails grow faster, and makes them stronger and healthier. The third side is made of a material that polishes the nails and makes them shinier. It usually doesn't have any formula on it, though.
no paint, it is as the other posts said hence ';buffing'; it is polising the nail.
A nail buffer removes a layer of the nail because it's like really fine sandpaper.

    The Muse
the buffer smoothen and shines the nail so it looks like clear polish

For how long is it safe to keep nail polish?

I have nail polish from as long ago as 17 years - is it still okay to use?For how long is it safe to keep nail polish?
No, throw those away. Nail polish can only be kept 6 months to a year I think. Bacteria can get in it. And the chemical compounds of the polish will lose its effectiveness. For how long is it safe to keep nail polish?
I don't think anything bad happens to it, but it'll probably be too thick to use after that long.
It will get all cloggy, dried up and it will be impossible to use. If it's not good anymore, you'll know!

If it's not like that yet, damn, girl, you've got good nail polish! What brand is it?
open it and see! I don't think that it will have become unsafe, just a bit gloopy
it depends on if the bottle has been open but 17 years seem a little bit long you might want to throw that away 11/2 is the best i think
In seventeen years the chemical bases may have become unstable. But what is the worse that could happen? It could dissolve your nails?

    Carpet Stain Removers

    Peroxide

There are some products on the market that claim to remove nail polish stains. Try these with caution. Try using them in a corner or closet to make sure they will not remove the dye from your carpet before using on the stain.

This is a tough one. You have to try the nail polish remover or goof-off. Goof-Off is a stain remover that might work and the truth is your choices are not many. You cant make it worse, but you should really act now before it saturates and sets up. If nothing works, get an area rug. This could be alot worse, it could be your son was painting his toenails and he spilt nail polish on your carpet......I know, this doesn't help.

Yes, I second the non-acetone nail polish.

take a pliers and twist the nail out then the plug will come out easily.

You can break the head off after removing the screw. The head will break off the rest of it,then knock it in.Now patch the hole.
You can pull them out by any method or push them in, either way you have to spackle the wall. Sorry, they made holes and you have to fix them.

  • How easy is it to use the acrylic nail kits?

Fancy trying to do my own nails - anyone know how easy it is?How easy is it to use the acrylic nail kits?
really easy, and pretty fun too. as long as you are someone who can paint nails on both hands neatly. if you wobble too much then you will have probs doing it on the other hand and it will look awful.

the kits are really simple to use. you just need a little holder for the liquid (i find a skinny candle holder the best) and a small paintbrush, and off you go. make sure you have plenty of ventilation as the fumes can harm your health. have fun!How easy is it to use the acrylic nail kits?
If you're familiar with the process, why not give it a try? I was in high school when I first began to do acrylic nails. Of course, I made several mistakes at first, but I learned what not to do from each of them. It's not extremely difficult but it does take time to get the technique down to a science. I suggest paying a lot of attention the next time you get your nails done and ask any questions you may have about the procedures, products, techniques, etc. That's how I learned. You will find that there are reasons for using specific types of products. For example, although there are many kinds of nail glue, you should choose a glue depending on how long you intend to wear the nails. If you plan to wear them for a long period and get refills, you will need a glue with an anti-fungal ingredient. Water can find tiny cracks between your nail and the acrylic nail while bathing, or washing your hands and begin to grow a fungus. There are also separate anti-fungal liquids that should be used for the area that the glue does not come in contact with. The area under the acrylic is equally as susceptible to fungus growth. There are a lot of health and safety issues that must be learned in order to not only have your nails look nice, but also to maintain a healthy nail bed. I hope this helps.
I used them once and they looked great. The problem is getting them off! You have to use non acetone polish remover and I was still picking glue off for days after. Good luck
Trust me it is not easy to do it yourself! You will end up with big blobs of acrylic on the nail and not easy to file it down. Then try doing the other hand. Nope, not easy at all!
it is not easy, because u probably don't have all the tools to shape your nails and buff them down. it's much easier to pay the money and go to a salon. I tried the kit thing and it was terrible.
Not easy at all. It's messy trying to glue the damn plastic nails on, cut them to length and then paint on the acrylic crap. I got a kit from walmart one time made by Broadway, and well, they turned out like crap. It was a waste of the $11 I spent. Much easier to go to the salon and get them done by the little phillipino woman behind the desk. More expensive, yes but they look much better and tend not to come off as easily.

Otherwise you can try the cheaper, plastic glue on nails, they will last about a week, but they're still a pain in the *** to put on yourself.
I use them all the time and yes they are easy to put on but don't get the cheep crap they fall off within days.
I have done it.....and if you are not going to buy a drill too don't bother.....it is hard to get them even and smooth with a file...and makes a mess....it also stinks really bad.....and the are a lot more likely to peel or chip off than when they are professionally done
It's not easy. It's super hard and your nails never look as nice as the shop. There's a reason why manicurists have degrees/certificates.
It's quite easy once you get the hang of it! I also do my own nails and they always turn out right. I don't use full-on acrylic sets, the ones I use are fortified with it, giving them durability. This set is found at Walgreens for about 7 dollars. It gives you nail tips, activator, gel and brush cleaner, instrustions and buffer and a cuticle stick.
It really isn't easy if you are doing your own nails. Have a friend or family member who is interested do them for you, and then you can do hers in return. You are probably better off getting your nails done from a professional. Usually it ranges anywhere between $30 and $50 (depending on where you go) and then fills are about $20.

    Good luck!
Well, if you are used to have long nails is not a big deal, but if you have always had short nails, then you're gonna have little problems. But is not really a big problem after the 1st week. Good luck!
I would not waste the money - go to a professional.
me personally didn't have much luck doing both hands my self, its OK doing one but much harder to do the other hand, so my advice would be have a friend there to help you, why don't you both have a pampering night best of luck xx
I've tried it before. I'm right handed, so when I did my left hand, it was very easy. However, when I did my right hand, it was VERY hard. But, any mistakes can be easily corrected with a good buffer. Just take your time with it.
My wife bought a french manicure kit, it looks like white-out strips on her fingernails though... she soon quit using it and just went back to the local nail salon. (Here in the US they all seem to be owned and operated by people of asian decent, so not to stereotype but it looks like they're brilliant at electronics... cheap transportation... AND nails.)
gels are better and easier if you have decent nails.

How long does it take for an ingrown nail to heal completely?

Exactly, three weeks ago I got an ingrown toenail cut out. My doctor told me the nail should grow above the skin now. It looks healed, but I still feel a little pain when i push on the side of my toenail. Is this normal or might my nail be growing back wrong? How long does it take for an ingrown nail to heal completely?
Some of it depends on how old you are, that is, how fast you heal.

I had surgery for an ingrown when I was about 25, and it took a month to heal. The doctor told me to soak it in Clorox for a few minutes each day, which seemed extreme, but I have to admit, it never got infected.

If it looks like it's getting infected, time to check back with the doctor, but if it's just a little tender, give it a couple more weeks. How long does it take for an ingrown nail to heal completely?
If it reddish and getting redder by the day , you need to go back to the doctor. When you poke your toe on the side and you feel pain that means that the toenail is growing back under the skin. Or the doctor did a real shitty job.

How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?

I have multiple canisters of nail polish from the year 2000, etc. I don't know whether to trash it or whether it's still usable.

Please advise as to the ';lifetime'; of nailpolish. How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?
theres no expire date, just open it and see if its still runny and puts on smooth..if it seems sticky or thick that its no good anymore. some nail polish will last longer depending on the brandname, and if you kept it in proper place that wasnt too hot or cold. How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?
alot of nail poilish should say on the back the exp. date. but most are 24 months. I would throw the really old ones.
It depends on the consistency of the polish...If it is sticky and gooey trash it! Otherwise it should be fine!
keep your polish go get some nail polish thinner from the beauty supply store you never have to throw it out.for a cheaper way out use pure acetone
usually its good till you cant use it....(getting out of container,or painting your nails)
If it looks like it's the same consistency as when you bought it, there's no reason not to wear it.
Throw it away. Polish is good for no more than two years. It gets thick and nearly unusable.

After a certain time, fungus or bacteria can get trapped in the bottle and transferred to your nails. Old polish also tends to stain your nails worse.
2-3 years. So I'd throw out the ones you still have from 2000. However, here's a trick I learned (and that works!) with nail polish that may not be old but is thick: pour no more than one to two drops of nail polish remover into the nail polish, close the polish back up and shake it. Then when you go to apply the polish, it's no longer sticky-like or thick anymore. However, you have to be extremely careful you don't over-pour the remover because otherwise it'll change the color of the polish.

  • How to get rid of and in grown toe nail? Or at least make it hurt less?

i have an in grown toe nail but no insurance. It is the most painful thing i have ever felt when i stub it. Any suggestions how i should take care of it.How to get rid of and in grown toe nail? Or at least make it hurt less?
Pain Go will take the pain right out of an ingrown toenail. I'm serious, it works. I think it helps it heal a lot faster, too. Get it here. http://www.tip2toeessentials.com/PAIN-GO鈥?/a>How to get rid of and in grown toe nail? Or at least make it hurt less?
soak the toe in some warm water for awhile until it's soft to bend.

you will need to clip the corner as short as you can so that it isn't jamming into your toe. If you can't cut it, put an itty-bitty wad of cotton under it, but the toenail has to be lifted away from the skin. It's easier if the toenail is softened in water first.

    Personal experience
Its better to go to an esthetician then anything else, they will be able to take care of it for you. Or for a quick fix, get a little stick or fine tweezers, roll up a bit of cotton into a little tight ball, and put it under the toe nail close to the corner that is ingrown, this will at least relieve some discomfort for now.
Well i went to the dermatologist and she said that if you can pick part of the nail up on the side and stick cotton underneath it then it relieves all of the pressure. I have the same thing because of volleyball and the cotton really helped. Oh and make sure to push it down with tweezers and only use part of the cotton ball not the whole thing. Hope I helped you out.

That stuff sticks! If you attempt to pull it off you are going to need a combination of a slim but strong flat bar and a long pry bar. Take it slow and pry it from every surface that its stuck to and be prepared to make repairs to your cabinets, you will likely damage the surface.

Is it ok for a nail tech to use the drill on top of the nail when she is only going to polish them?

a softer sander. I don't have thick nails they are already really thin.

Don't the nail nail techs learn about this in class? Is it ok for a nail tech to use the drill on top of the nail when she is only going to polish them?
yes, it is OK. They do this so that it causes the nail to be a little more porous then usual. Is it inapropriate to wear red nail polish to a job interview?

i don't think it will be a big deal, just make sure it isn't like bright fire engine red. even so, i doubt it will count against you.Is it inapropriate to wear red nail polish to a job interview?
Nail polish is never good when looking for a job in food service.
Red nail polish will probably be deemed quite suitable, particularly if you can make it intentional by your fashion choices.

Although you will likely opt not to wear a red dress, a scarlet suit, or even a crimson blouse to a first interview, you could certainly jazz up a conservative look with a tiny bit of color to coordinate with your fresh manicure.

For example, why not sport a small pair of red earrings, a string of red beads, or a tasteful scarf with a hint of red? This suggests your creativity and individuality without shouting it, while you are making a first impression.

You might also opt to save those sexy red shoes for a flashier event.

Count your blessings. Red can be classic. At least you are not attempting to camouflage a racier, riskier shade. Green, brown, black, or purple nail lacquer might require you to grab the nail polish remover tonight!

By the way, I published an article about manicures and nail color choices. You might find it interesting and informative. Check the link below (under SOURCES), if you want to read it.

Good luck on your job interview. Hope you land the job you want!
For some jobs you bet! Also a miniskirt , a full beard and crotchless leather chaps. But again, not for every job.
You won't lose any points. In fact, you will probably gain points by having great nails.
    girl its the 20th century.

just dont wear black nailpolish and your good. make sure your nails are clean and neat, thats all.

doesnt matter if they are red or not.
It is prefered to have your nail color complement your complexion/skin tone.
As long as you also wear a professional outfit this shouldn't matter at all. It could even work in your favor. Good luck!
no, I would find it a good thing, like you cared enough to paint your nails for this job.
    no
no, but it has to match
I wouldn't do it, its chancy. If you're interviewing with a man it probably won't matter but another women will not like it. Try and look as professional as you can, don't wear 8 inch pumps.

Is it safe to use human nail polish. If it is, is it safe if my dog sometimes put her paw in her mouth with the polish on?Sometimes she chews her foot not often though. Is it safe to use human nail polish for dogs?
No it is not advised to use human nail polish because it contains DBP.Is it safe to use human nail polish for dogs?
Not sure but it's gotta be hard to keep the paws still long enough for it to dry!
no. it's too strong of a scent for their sinuses, and it's harmful if they lick it off. go to the pet store like petsmart, they have some nail polish for dogs.
    i think, it is.
nooooooo they might eat it and get sick!

go to a groomer and see if they hav a non toxic paint they can use.

on my super sweet 16 the girl dyed her 2 poodles pink and painted there toes at the groomers.

good luck bet theyd look cute =]
don't do that to your pup, you will make her sick, and it will not look good smeared or chewed up.
I've done it to my dog and nothing happened to him, but I guess it could be bad if your dog licked the nailpolish off or something.
makes them sick and why would you?
nope. there are ';dog'; nail polishes that aren't poisonous. if the puppy chews on her nails, it could give her problems.
It's totally inappropriate to paint a dog's toe nails with nail polish.

It's a dog, not a human. The chemicals are likely to be dangerous, but I don't know for sure since most people have more sense than to put nail polish on a dog's toe nails.

How can you get red nail polish off jeans. I've already tried nail polish remover, and it doesnt work?

Band boxHow can you get red nail polish off jeans. I've already tried nail polish remover, and it doesnt work?
Perhaps the nail polish remover you used was Acetone-free, it's kinder to your nails.

Try straight Acetone - you can buy it in a DIY shop, I used it to get permanent marker off a painting and it worked. BUT it will probably bleach the jeans a bit.

Hope this helps. How can you get red nail polish off jeans. I've already tried nail polish remover, and it doesnt work?
hon it doesnt come out im sorry happend to me and i had it for 3 years and it wont come out so you should just get another pair
I've done that before, and couldn't get it out, so I had to throw out the jeans.

But I was just reading this thing, it says that a product called Krud Kutter will take out nail polish, and it's fabric safe, so it's probably a better choice than nail polish remover. I'm not sure where to buy it, try their website www.krudkutter.com.
Apply the nail polish remover to the stain and then lightly blot the stain. Apply detergent and warm water to make sure that you have removed the stain completely and then wash as usual with your detergent. You may have to apply the nail polish remover and blot several times to remove all of the nail polish stain. Do not give up!

Another treatment option in using the nail polish remover is to stretch the item of clothing over a bowl and affix it using a rubber band. Apply the nail polish remover using a stainless steel spoon, while letting it drip through the stain into the bowl. This may take a while, but it will be worth it if you have stained your favorite shirt, now won鈥檛 it?

It is very important to test the nail polish remover in an inconspicuous area of your clothing, furniture, or carpet to make sure that the item is colorfast.

Hydrogen Peroxide-Another Way to Treat A Nail Polish Stain

If the stain remains after you have tried using nail polish remover, then you may want to try a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. Use a 50-50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water and apply it to the stain. Let the fabric sit in the sun for a few hours for maximum effectiveness and keep it moistened with the hydrogen peroxide and water mixture.

This method should be used only on white clothes or colorfast clothes. Always test in an inconspicuous area to make sure it will not harm your fabric

you buy a bottle of acetone nail polish remover and put it in a bowl and soak you nails in it for about an hour (or however long it takes for the nails to melt off) also this may dry out your skin so if you put Vaseline on you skin around your nails and on your fingers it will protect them from getting damaged
the fastest way is to soak them in nail polish remover but make sure it is the king with acetone in it he nails will get really mushy i take them out every 2 min or so and use a towel to remove the gel then stick them back in takes about 7 to 10 min total Good luck
soak them in nail polish remover and they will come off. use a strong one from a beauty supply not over the counter from a pharmacy.

Or get one of the black nail files with 2 sides and file them down like you are buffing them until its all gone.
scrub them under freezing cold water
You could try soak them in vinegar until they feel loose if they don't caring on soaking them in vinegar and them pull them off slowly.
Girlfriend, that is an easy one! All that you have to do is go to your local beauty supply and request a large bottle of acetone. Now don't get nail polish remover but get the real stuff.Soak your nails one hand @ a time and use an orange stick or nail file to push off the softened gel starting at the cuticle and moving out to the tip of the nail. This dose take about 30min.to an hour per hand;however you will save $ on going to the salon for the soak off procedure which by the way is the same thing you will do at home they just supply the acetone.Good Luck.

Is it an Ingrown nail if I can lift up the top 1/2 CM of the nail?

I can lift it out 1/2 cm on each 4 sides of both my big toes, could all 4 sides still be ingrown because they still hurt when pressure is put on certain areas of the toes. Theyre not red or anything. Is it an Ingrown nail if I can lift up the top 1/2 CM of the nail?
im not sure if the measurements of your sides have anything to do with it. but if it hurts and is red around where it hurts, it is most likely an ingrown. i wouldnt advise you to take it out yourself though, the big toe is thehardest one to take out by yourself.

if you like pedicures, usually the pedicurist can take it out, if not you can go to the podiatrist and they will remove it for like $60 depending on where you live.Is it an Ingrown nail if I can lift up the top 1/2 CM of the nail?
I think so. Try cleaning it with vinegar twice a day. Then, put a cloth bandaid on the sides where the skin curls on the nail sides, but pull the skin away with the bandaid to take some of the pressure off of the skin and see if it helps.

Also, sometimes, to relieve the pressure, cut a V shape at the middle of the white part of the nail in the middle and this can also help relieve some of the pressure that the nail is putting on the skin surrounding the nail. Salt water warm soaks for about 10 minutes in very warm water will also help relieve some of the pain.
probably not but if you are worried about it you should cut a V in the middle of the top of the nail so that it will grow inward and also make sure that when you trim your nails you cut them straight across to avoid ingrown toenails in the future.
your going to loose the nail no matter what you should se a Dr. right away ITs hurting cause the presure from the nail touching the sensitve part of the toe that should normaly not be touched its not ingrown
don't hurt anybody with your nails but some girls use fake nail so your real nail in case you broke it so it will have unpleasant pain so use fake nail like girls do

Is the nourishing nail balm good for anything? How does it help your nails?

Anything that you can put on your nails helps nourish them. This is because it helps keep the cuticle loose and soft and keeps the nail plate soft and plyable. Nourishment actually comes from within, vitamins, food, etc. Your nails grows from just beyound your cuticle and grows out from there. SO keeping your cuticles pushed back and soft gives a healthy and happy nail. I agree with Anna, Olive Oil is perfect for that and cheap too :) Break open a vitamin E tablet, or work in some cream. probably.
I'm wearing it right now on my fingers and toes. All of them. I wear it cause I like the color black. It also matches my hubby's hot rod and my Mustang. I'm not trying to make a statement or anything. Jesus, people get really judgmental over such little BS.
Well I really dont think its some kind of statement behind the nail polish, It might just be they stlye or they can be Gothic.

It will take over a year to feel normal, if it grows back at all.

    Happy fungal management!
If you had it removed, the doctor should have removed the nail bed and matrix to keep it from growing back. It will take a while, maybe a year, and yes, it could grow back ingrown. Did you have it removed for being ingrown? If so, it probly will become that way again. Some people's toenails just grow that way. If you had it removed for fungal growth, it may grow back fine.
why would you have it removed?? and it probly takes just as long as it would when its clipped exept a little longer since it stll has to pass the toe's tip

Is it better to use nail polish remover or to peel it off?

Which is better: nail polish remover (chemicals) or peeling it off?Is it better to use nail polish remover or to peel it off?
Nail polish remover for sure. Peeling it off just scratches up your nails and there's still leftover bits on. It looks sloppy. Nail polish remover on a little cotton swab takes the nail polish off cleanly, making the nails looks smooth and normal. The chemicals also don't harm your nails, cuz they are being rubbed off, remember. Is it better to use nail polish remover or to peel it off?
    Nail Polish Remover

it also makes yur nails a bit shinier :] well for me they do.

If you try peeling it off it takes longer

try to get a natural nail polish remover

    http://yhst-69425682112873.stores.yahoo.net/go-natural-odorless-nail-polish-remover-4o4.html

The link above is where you can get a natural nail polish remover!

    NON-TOXIC! :]
    nail remover.

peeling it off also peels off layers off you nail. after using nail polish remover, put a blob of lotion on your nails (NO DONT RUB IT IN!! JUST LEAVE IT AS A BLOB!!) the lotion strengthens your nails and makes them grow faster and healthier!!

    hope i helpeddd
nail polish remover gets it off faster... if thats what you mean...im not really sure of the question. if u use nail polish remover use a scrap piece of felt instead of a cotton ball, it gets it off a LOT faster, trust me!
nail polish remover. peeling it doesnt take it off all the way and its hard to get off the little bits near the cuticle.
Nail polish remover. you can get a natural or mild one if ur worried bout chemicals. peeling it off damages ur nails terribly
Nail Polish Remover because It gets it off faster and easier. If you peel it off your nail will get damaged. So I'd say nail polish remover.
If the polish has adhered to your nail, you could damage the nail more buy peeling it than using a chemical.
peeling it off harms your nails, believe me.
    Nail polish remover.
i guess peeling healthier, but always look like crap.

i always peel and then use ';Green Tea Hard As Nails'; afterwards...
totally use nail polish remover to remove your nail polish other wise you could damage your nails. hope this helped!
    nail polish remover.
    Nail polish remover DEFINITELY.

The worst hing you could do is to peal off you nail polish.

    It ruins your nails
So much better to use nail polish remover!!!! You will damage your nails if you pick and peel it off.
NOT using nail polish is better
remover...peeling it will scratch your nails and doesnt get it off all the way!
    use your brain.
what r u trying to remove

Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?

I've been painting my chihuahua's nails for 2 years and I've used human nail polish mostly and have never had a problem but people have told me its unsafe. Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?
I have painted my dogs nails as well and have never had any problems. As long as the dog doesnt chew on their nails i dont see why it would hurt them.Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?
I have done my dogs nails for a long time now myself with human nail polish also. I've never had a problem but if you are concern Iresently came across O.P.I has a dog nail polish line. They don't have that many colors but I'm guessing this would be healthier then just regular polish. If you go to Petedge.com they also have a line of polish and they have WAY more colors.
We take my dog to Petsmart to paint her nails, and we asked them if it is safe to paint her nails with regular nail polish and they said that it probably wont kill her, but they just recommended going to the store and get non toxic washable markers or that window paint stuff ( that is what they use).
Not only are some dogs sensitive to the nail polish but some nail polishes have toxins in them. I dont think it would kill the dog, might not even make them sick, just not healthy. Ask your vet though. You could always check with the groomer too and see what they suggest.
Some dogs are sensitive to the smell of nail polish, and if you have a dog that tends to lick its paws then it wouldn't be a good idea, but if you've been doing this for several years I doubt your dog will suddenly start having a problem with it.
Yes. The nail polish can get annoying to the dog, and it can lick it. Its just like a human licking nail polish, it wouldn't taste good, and the dog can get sick. It's also bad to have a dog smelling the nail polish.
Why are you painting your dogs nails? The fumes are toxic and I am sure your dog does not enjoy the experience. You are putting your dogs health in jeopardy. People who paint their dog's nails are doing it for their own entertainment rather than thinking about the dog.
I would say it's safe only if your dog doesn't chew on a lot of things. Nail polish can be very bad for a dog if it were to eat the nail polish.
    Yes its safe
You have a dog! Not a toy

Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?

I know that it has something to do with religion, and the dead. But I just don't know how to word the answer. Which is why I ask you, the Yahoo Answers community, 'Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?'

I know this is kind of a silly question, but I've been wondering it for awhile.

    Thanks:D

(:Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
so that when the corpse tries to jump up and yell at you that ';I WANTED TO BE CREMATED YOU JERK!!! NOW IM SITTING HERE WITH MAGGOTS EATING ME!!!'; it wont be able to, and therefore wont disturb the mounring family members. all they hear is a slight muffled thud on the inside of the coffin. :) *throws cookies*Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
People have some respect and feeling for their dead relatives and friends. They do not want somebody throwing sand and earth on the body of the dead so they have covered it and nailed it. Ans also might have been under the impression in olden times that if you close and nail it the body would be perfectly in good condition.

I think in Islam they open the coffin and leave the body to be covered with earth.

Once the body is lifeless let at least the worms eat the body so even in death man can satisfy some creatures hunger.
They wouldnt want to trap your soul in a box i think its for grave robbers grave robing has been going on since the start of medicine so i think it makes it a lot harder or maybe they didnt want the dead comming to life and being able to get out of there coffins although with 6 feet of dirt on top of you i would think you couldnt escape anyways but hey those are my theories
I always assumed it was so that if the coffin was knocked over, dropped etc. the dead corpse doesn't fall out (You can imagine where that would be rather upsetting for some people)...
Keep the body in, grieving people out and the smell and fluids in did you know coffins are lined so as not to leak fluids.
I have never thought about that but if it is done I would think it might be to stop or slow down grave robbers who rob graves for jewelry etc left on the deceased. It is gross I know but it happens
So that the Zombies cant get back out.

    Maybe,I dont know, I didn't do it.
To stop the ghost getting out!
Um, so it won't fall off?

Maybe it's symbolizing that the person is ';officially'; dead.

I have an ingrown nail growing under my thumb nail. It is small and it hurts what can I do about this?

get a pair of nail clippers and dig it out.I have an ingrown nail growing under my thumb nail. It is small and it hurts what can I do about this?
This may sound like a crude solution. but you need to get a very small pair of pliers and grab as close to the base of the ingrown nail as you can and pull.(they sell pliers specifically for this purpose). If you have a high tolerance for pain than great. if not, numb the area with ice first because it's gonna hurt. In fact, have somebody else pull it for you, this is best.I have an ingrown nail growing under my thumb nail. It is small and it hurts what can I do about this?
first try to cut it with clippers but be careful if you can't then you will need the doctor to check it so that you don't get an infection. Hope this helped you.

  • Luxury Fashion retail interview (manager position). How do I nail it?

I am quite nervous, what question can I expect? and what question can I ask? I am 100% sure I can do the job and I'll be good at it, I just hate interviews, my mind always go blank. so I want to be ready for it.

Thank you very much GuysLuxury Fashion retail interview (manager position). How do I nail it?
I like interviews which is strange i know relax and smile and write all your best assets down about yourself and you will feel confidantLuxury Fashion retail interview (manager position). How do I nail it?
Tell them you want the job. Make sure that you know all the up to date fashions. Ask them lots of things. Make sure they know your passions as well. They might ask you lots of questions about customer service, especially if it is luxury fashion.

Ask them what market they are aiming for i.e. age group, what advertising/marketing they do. Ask them about the company, how long it has been going, prospects etc. Just show a real interest and a passion in what you do.

I always go into interviews thinking, if I don't get it, it's their loss. Think of it in terms that they have to sell the job to you! I always tell prospective employers that I am really interested in the job at the end of the interview and I have been told that is really good.
Do your research... Check the company on the Net. A managers position will include supervisory experience, I would imagine, Or is this a manager of a section...again do the research on the net pull up anything related to the type of fashion the company is involved with etc. Think about the skills you would be bringing to the position and how you would benefit the organisation. If you do become nervous in interviews there is nothing wrong with having prompt cards to help you. These can be an easy reference for you.....Think about your past experience so that you have examples i.e when you have trained someone, cashing up, dealt with a difficult situation. It is also important to thin about customer service and how this is important to you...... Good Luck and try to use your nerves as a positive

Is it inapropriate to wear red nail polish to a job interview?

I got my nails done and my interview is tommorrow I just found out 20 minutes ago and I dont have time to go to the salon. Can it make me loose points to have red nail polish? It's an office setting.

Is it possible to use nail polish remover as an alternative to lighter fuel?

The lighter I am wishing to refill is a kitchen lighterIs it possible to use nail polish remover as an alternative to lighter fuel?
no i would not try it. it can damage the lighter or even start a fire. and i dont think the fumes that u will breathe are any good either. just buy the normal lighter fluid before you get burned.

just what i think, you are more than welcome to try and see what happens. Is it possible to use nail polish remover as an alternative to lighter fuel?
    your kidding RIGHT!!
    Nope
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That's foolish and risking your health. I had a friend and we worked with White Gas, highly volatile, he filled his lighter with that. On one break on a shipping dock he went out for a smoke. We heard a loud ';Pop'; and found him screaming on the dock, his face injured and burned by the lighter.
I would not recommend it. Lighter fuel is basically gasoline, but polish remover typically is a blend of acetone with other glop that will foul up your lighter. Also, the price is wrong; polish remover is expensive.

The secret, if you're starting out, is to first paint the nail THEN apply it to your natural nail.

If you're planning to paint on your natural nails, there are nail polishes out that have super-fine brushes that make painting a lot easier--you can usually find them in beauty supply stores.

Other than that it's really about practicing and getting better at it. My advice to you would be to google pictures of nail art you like and emulate them until you have them down perfectly.
its easy for me u use a tooth pick to get into fine detail but it depends if ur cordinated or not.

If I put a long nail through ice, will it be covered with ice? How is the temperature distributed?

Assume -40C temperature of the air and a deep lake that is not entirely frozen. Nail is long: good part of it is below ice and good part is above ice. The water is obviously at around 0C. The nail is made of metal and has very good heat conductivity. Assume that the air and the water are both perfectly still. Assume that:

    (A) Nail does not have any outside insulation.

    (B) Nail does have some outside heat insulation. (Say it has a layer of special plastic (one that almost does not conduct heat) around it (only present to prevent heat exchange between nail and ice. The goal is to keep the nail only in contact with water and air.)

Q1. Will the underwater part of the nail be covered with ice? after some time? Why or why not?

Q2. How will the temperature be distributed along the length of the nail?

Q3. Does the geometry of the nail affect this distribution? How? (Formulas and illustrative examples are welcome).

Q4. What changes if the water is not still but moving?

ThanksIf I put a long nail through ice, will it be covered with ice? How is the temperature distributed?
You are describing a thermal bridge between the atmosphere at -40c and the water near 0c.

At the water/ice interface, the temperature of the water and ice are almost identical. With the nail acting as a conduit to remove additional heat, I would assume that the water would begin to freeze along the nail, starting at the ice. Whether it could reach to the bottom of the nail would depend on lots of factors.

I would think that adding the insulation on the nail where it contacts the ice would enhance the effect.

  • I accidently cut my dogs nail too short and it was bleeding please help me?

I accidently cut it too short, and it's bleeding. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, and I think the bleeding has stopped now, but is this harmful? Serious answer only please. This is not just a dog to me, it's my baby girl.I accidently cut my dogs nail too short and it was bleeding please help me?
Hi Angel, First and Foremost . . . From one Doggie Mommie of three to another, I applaud you for loving your baby girl so much!

I’m very sorry to hear of the accident, I know it must have been very frightening for you. I’ve done the same and have felt really bad. Get yourself a pair of clippers that has a guard tab so you can only cut a small portion of her nail. I’ll include a web site link to show you what I’m referring to.

It’s probably a “little” tender for her, but it’s nothing serious. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t start bleeding again. If she gets it real dirty, (example:digging in the dirt) I’d rinse it off. A saline solution (for rinsing contact lens) is the BEST for this or to clean a cut because it is sterile. I always keep this on hand!

Other than that it’ll be fine sweetie! Even the vet’s cut them too short sometimes, so don’t feel bad. I use to cut my boy’s nails until my ex-husband nearly cut half his nail off*rolls eyes*! I wanted to smack him up side his head!!! But I was too busy because it bled enormously.

So I let the Vet do it because he’s hesitant on allowing me to now. Your girl might be the same, so next time you cut them, take it real slow with her. For some reason this is something they do not forget!

As I’m sure you know, always keep styptic powder to stop the bleeding if an accident happens. You can use flour, but the other is the best. With her being so little a better choice is the nail sticks. I’ll give you links to show ya what these products are. I’m NOT promoting the seller, only showing you the product.

I hope that your baby girl is fine now and that I’ve been helpful. I COMPLETELY understand how it feels to be frightened when your baby has been injured! BIG HUG to you and her! Deb

p.s. If you would like some helpful dog health web site links just shoot me an email. I would be more than happy to share with you!!!I accidently cut my dogs nail too short and it was bleeding please help me?
Dont worry its ok. bleeding stops within a few scounds and plus if you ever cut so short it didnt heres a little tip get a little bit of flour with a very small amount of water mix it together and put it on the tip of the nail(where it bleeding) itll stop the bleeding and it wont hurt at all! =) hope i helped!!
It's not serious, just put some flour on the nail to speed coagulation. It's kinda like cutting your own nail too short, brief pain and a dull ache after unless you've cut the pad. then it's time to call the vet. Your dog will forgive you.
Once the bleeding has stopped, it should be fine. If the bleeding begins again, put a little flour or corn starch on it. Even baby powder will work.
hmmm yeah, i know what you felt.. i accidentally cut my miniature pinschers nails too short too, it bled ,,, i was like ';OMG, im so sorry,'; ... rule when something is bleeding, just put pressure to stop bleeding.. dont worry, our beloved baby's will just be fine ... goodluck.
if the bleeding has stopped you shouldn't have any problems if your worried get some natural vitamin e tablets that have a liquid centre and rub it on the nail bed it should help it heal faster and wont make the dog sick if it licks it. lots of people do this by accident i myself have with my baby boy who has black nails. its something you cant always avoid. but dont stress she will be fine.
It depends on how low you cut it, if it is just alittle bit she is ok, if she doesnt seem to be in any pain I wouldnt worry. If it happens again, Use corn meal or flour, press it to her nail and it should stop the bleeding, and it wont cause infection or anything like that, I have done it before. Accidents happen, If she has black nails its really hard to tell, if they are regular, next time only cut about half her nail and dont get too close to the pink part, if she has black nails you just have to be extra careful
Your dog will be fine. Usually the bleeding doesn't last long.
    Take her to the vet.
My wife is a groomer, and it happens all the time... they sell stuff specifically for that actually. I think it's called ';Stop Bleed'; or something like that. White powder stuff that you put on it and it stops bleeding like 2 seconds flat. Probably not super fun for the dog, but not like OMG, let's go the Vet's office, unless it won't stop bleeding.
Hi,what kind of dog is it?Great Dane?Chihuahua?if she starts bleeding the best thing to do is hold onto her and put a towel wet or dry to the spot, even if its stopped bleeding keep it there at least 10 minutes. Its something that happens alot and alot of people freak out.No need to be guilty cause of it.It should be fine.Good Luck
ok instead of clippers next time buy a rotary tool. With a rotary tool you do not run the risk of cutting your dogs blood vessel. This is the kind I have for my dog http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-761-03-Cord…
If its still bleeding, you need to make it stop. Depending on your time zone, go to a pet store now, and get something they have there that will stop it. It wont hurt her, in the long run, but bleeding of any kind is best stopped as soon as possible.Remember, cut only into the white of the nail...a good rule of thumb is, cut a little and see how it goes, best to be safe.
Don't stress, your dog will be ok - the toe nail will grow back. The only thing you should keep an eye out for is infections.

If I stop biting my nails now, how long would it probably take for them to grow back enough for nail polish?

Basically, they are below the tip, some bleed and most hurt. Im looking or an approx. Weeks, months, longer? If I stop biting my nails now, how long would it probably take for them to grow back enough for nail polish?
Not long, all you have to do is take care of them. Might be 2-3 weeks or so.

What you can do is carry a healthy diet and buy that ';Hair, Skin and Nails'; Vitamin formula from GNC, this will make your nails grow strong and healthy.

Hope this helps. If I stop biting my nails now, how long would it probably take for them to grow back enough for nail polish?
Anywhere from two weeks to about a month, depending on your body. I also used to bite my nails. It took me two weeks to grow them to a ';normal'; length, but then i clipped them off because I couldn't bite them lol.

I found that painting them in a nailpolish that you love is the best way to keep from biting/clipping your nails too short. :)

You can help them grow stronger and faster by soaking and cleaning under them 2-3 times a week.
it may take at least a month to grow back but you will need to.. clean, file and look after them.

its very hard work because they will obviously get dirt in them throughout the entire day.

by the way biting nails can cause bad teeth and stinky breath!

so if i was you i would stop if i were you!! LOL!!
Everyone's nails grow at different rates. Wait a couple weeks, and that should give your nails some time to grow out- then you can paint them :D
You'd be surprised how little time it took for them to grow. It would be about 2 or 3 weeks and you'd have enough to paint.
i bite my nails to. i stopped for a few months last year and they grew really fast - once they get stronger they grow much faster
it won't take thaat long for them to grow back at all. probaley a week and a half. just try not to bite them.

How do I remove super glue from kitchen counter? I have tried nail polish remover and it does not work.?

The active ingredient in almost every Nail Polsih Remover is acetone, it has a very low vapor pressure and so it evaporates almost instantly from the surface to which it is applied. A better solvent for this task is Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), it has a higher vapor pressure than the Acetone so it works on the Cyanoacrylate (super glue) for a longer period of time. If the countertop that you spilled the CA (Cyanoacrylate) on is a solid surface countertop like Corian you might have problems since it is another acrylic resin that could be dissolved by the MEK. For the sake of Saving possibly thousands of $'s, please, please, please test the MEK on an inconspicuos area first. If it dissolves the countertop material, follow the other suggestion and degrade the CA by placing a terry cloth rag over the top of the spill and pouring hot (not boiling) water over it. Water slowly breaks down the CA and the increased heat will accelerate the process. How do I remove super glue from kitchen counter? I have tried nail polish remover and it does not work.?
You may need to use a paint scraper for glass etc. and use the acetone again to help soften the glue. Depending what the surface is you could try using fine sandpaper on the spot. How do I remove super glue from kitchen counter? I have tried nail polish remover and it does not work.?
    Super glue remover
No matter what people say super glue is not that 'super'....

It will absorb water so all you need is a moist cloth using hot water and leave it on the glue for a long time, it will soften and lift off.
Try acetone, it normally will remove anything....
    Maybe try paint thinner?

Will wearing clear nail polish over black nail polish prevent it from chipping?

Nope. I use something called Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top (red bottle) and it makes your nails really shiny and keeps the polish on longer.
it will prevent it from chipping because you'll have another layer on and its clear so it'll will be a glossy black which is totally in %26lt;3
yeah it will help it not chip and can actually make it look more black b/c it will give it more shine so the color will stand out more

i always use a top coat
No. As long as you allow the base layer to dry first.

We took care of the bleeding, called the vet, treated it per instructions, and she is now resting comfortably in her crate. Will her nail ever grow back?My German Shepherd ripped her nail out, will it grow back?
My dog ripped his nail out when he was just over a year old, the nail grew back a bit sideways.....but it grew back fine other than that

    :)

ADD: Just keep the wound clean and free of debris so that it doesnt get infected....give it a wash down with a saline solution (1 teaspoon of salt to one pint of boiled and cooled water) twice a day

I Usually pain My Princesses Toe Nails Pink and i repaint them when they chip off. I want to do a fresh coat and i want to know if its ok to take it off with nail polish Remover? I am going to give her a bath and wash her paws so it will wash off?Is it bad to put Nail polish remover on Dogs Nails?
You know, im not sure if anyone has ever told you this before but i'll share it with you now, dogs are not human, you want to paint nails - buy a doll.

Of course it is bad for them, have you smelt that stuff at all? It's not exactly considered good for them, probably to do with the fact that it was made for humans...

Stupidity upsets my happiness. Is it bad to put Nail polish remover on Dogs Nails?
You don't need to give your dog a complete bath to just to wash the polish off - just use a wet towel to wash the entire paw. Or you could put polish remover on piece of cotton and remove the polish on each individual nail.
it could still leave a toxic residue. I hope you dont use people polich either, that is toxic if she eats or licks it off. Try this site its great. and they sell Pawlish and nail pawlish remover.

I dont think it's a good idea unless you THOUGHRULLY wash her paws. i feel as though nail polish remover is soooo strong. be careful!

Maybe you just shouldnt paint them in the first place...im sure she doesnt enjoy it...
Why would you want to put nail polish on your dogs nails? She's a DOG!I am not sure if nail polish is even meant for dogs moreover nail polish remover. Maybe you should treat your dog like a dog instead!
seriously? thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard your ';princess'; will die if she licks her toes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO!!! Never put nail polish remover on dogs nails! It could Poison them!
If you treat your dog this way, please don't have children.
As long as you give her a bath..

What's the best way to apply nail polish so that it lasts?

What brands are best? How long does polish last in the bottle? I've had trouble with polish that looks okay when I apply it, but after a few hours it has small bumps in it.

What's the best way to apply nail polish so that it lasts?
OPI lasts about 2 weeks before it chips (pretty long in comparison to other brands)

In order to make nail polish last, there's 4 steps:

    1) Wash your hands with antibacterial soap so that there's no oil or bacteria that could make your nail chip quicker.

    2) Apply a base coat on all your nails and wait ~1 min for it to dry. This creates a nice, smooth base for your nail color to go on; and it prevents the color to stain your nails yellow.

    3) Apply your nail color (if it's opaque, usually 1 coat is enough) in a thin coat, because too much can take a long time to dry and it's messy. But if you're using a cheap nail polish, 2 coats is probably better. Wait for ~1 min to dry

    4) Apply a clear top coat, that way it kind of ';seals'; your nail color in so that it chips less easily.

As for the little bumps in it ... I'd say something happened in the drying process, because that never happened to me. Perhaps you went over your somewhat damp nail polish with another coat and it looks like a mess? Next time, make sure the nail polish dried COMPLETELY before applying another coat.

Hope this helps. What's the best way to apply nail polish so that it lasts?
Add a clear coat, and your getting bumps on your nails because your repeating over the same side, dip the brush in start from cuticals and work down from there stating from the side of your nail and all the way to the other side, sot here ya goo =) nice nails that you will get. Any brands work as long as you know how to apply like above.

Polish lasts a long time just shut the lid when your done other wise the nail polish will dry out

hope this advice helped you =)

P.S. after your done applying it blow on it for 20 seconds and don't touch anything to prevent it form getting ruined
Sally Hansen: Double Duty.... it's both a clear base coat %26amp; top coat.

apply it before color, let dry. then apply color in THIN layers, let each dry before the next layer, then add the clear coating again so to prevent chipping!

i never had the bubbles when i used it!

oh %26amp; the bubbles are caused by layering nail polish that isnt yet dry!
Put it in the fridge (no kidding, it helps it last longer)

use remover to strip the nail of oils that mess up the polish

    apply in many thin coats

    top with clear polish

put on one coat of clear polish every other day to keep it from chipping
Any brands are just fine, its the way how you apply it.

After you apply nail polish, put your hands to the freezer for few minutes to let your polish dry,NEVER blow air or a fan to a wet nails it causes bumps and ruins the polish.
I hate to be a kill joy and you might enjoy doing your own nails but what I like to do is get my nails done at the salon, it's only $5 for them to polish my nails, they look great and lasts for weeks and weeks at a time.
the bumps are probably because your nails weren't thoroughly dry so they become bumpy. to make your nail polish last apply the color you want and wait till it drys. then apply the clear nail polish which will not only make it stay longer it will make it shiny
File your nails smooth and make sure all of the old polish is gone. After putting on the polish and it has a chance to dry, try adding a coat of clear polish.
Apply a top %26amp; base coat. Sally Hansen makes a combined one.
sally henson (I think that's the brand) is WICKED good! Apply two or three coats.
MASGLO... not easy to find but if you do buy tons of it.....

    the best

I use it and it looks great fore about 10 days!

Why is it that they say nail polish will dry in 60 seconds?

Because it doesnt, hours later you still get marks on them, even if you put the 60 second nail polish hardener on!

Thanks in advance for all answers! Why is it that they say nail polish will dry in 60 seconds?
Welcome to marketing. Why is it that they say nail polish will dry in 60 seconds?
    I've always wondered that [:

I'm always painting my nails, and i'm so clumsy i always forget there still wet and smudge them, so annoying. So i brought rimmel's 60 seconds one, and it definitely doesn't do what it says, if you put a real thin coat on, it kinda does, still takes a while though, and you have to give it more coats to stop it seeing the nail. It chips real quick too so you know :/

    %26lt;33.
i think the '60 second' thing is just that it it 'touch dry' in 60 seconds (even tho it usually isn't!). Nail polish actually takes 24 hours to fully dry. I would suggest that when you paint nails, to apply base and top coat and invest in a polish drying spray. You spray it on your nails after the top coat and this will make them fairly dry.
dont know dont use it but paint which is nail polish sort off needs longer it is the solvent that drys not the colurs etc that is in it
You are most likely putting it on too thick (each coast should be so thin it is translucent...that's why we use 2 coats! Also, 60 seconds means dry to the touch, not totally dry
