In accordance with AR 670-1, Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia, dated 5 SEPT 03, Chapter 1, Sub-paragraph 8, Item 3B covers cosmetic use for FEMALE soldiers. Non-nude colors are allowed; however, those colors must compliment the uniform and not distinctly contrast with the soldiers natural complexion. Examples of what NOT to wear include: purple, gold, blue, black, white, bright (fire-engine) red, khaki, camouflage, and fluorescent colors. However, one must remember that this is a GUIDELINE and ultimately it is up the discretion of your immediate supervisor. You will have to check with your NAVY regs to make sure you don't violate this policy, as the regulation may be slightly different between brances of service. Are non nude colors allowed in the military when it comes to nail polish?
