Have a new set of continental tires on my car i got a nail in it had it patched?

now i got another nail in it and the tire store said its like 10 inches away and they wont fix it says i need a new tire what kind of crap is that the other nail hole is 10 inches away from the old patch why cant they fix it the tire is 150 bucks and is new any answer to this problem and im just using it as a spare.Have a new set of continental tires on my car i got a nail in it had it patched?
go to more of a low end tire shop... not discount or michelin... thats there job (Its called an upsale) and if anything ask them why can they brush down the old patch and apply a larger swath for both... good luck and the cheap shops may be quicker and will def be less expensive!Have a new set of continental tires on my car i got a nail in it had it patched?
It could be an I-CAR rule. There are certain procedures to patching a tire and then I-CAR has guidelines to follow. If the tire store follows those guidelines, they can't be sued. It could also be tire manufacture guidelines. Ask them how much they will pro rate the tire. If they have less than a few thousand miles, they should replace it for free. Or at least 70 to 80% off.
