On average how much air is lost per day when your tire has a nail in it?

My car's tire pressure monitor keeps on going off, usually signaling a leak coming from the tires. However, I have been checking the tires in the morning every couple of days and there really isn't any leakage.

if you have newer toyota, you have to reset the TPWS (tire pressure warning system) light. if you have a toyota let me know.On average how much air is lost per day when your tire has a nail in it?
That is a weird question? If your tire has a hole in it air pressure loss would not be constant. Air pressure loss through a hole can depend on many things; size of the hole, internal tire pressure, outside air pressure, size of nail plugging the hole, weight of vehicle, direction of the puncture, whether or not the hole is facing the pavement or how much driving you are doing.

If it keeps going off have you tire pressure checked first; it could just be low and every time the temperature drops, the tire pressure is dropping past the alarm set point. Could be a bad sensor, bad tire, leaky wheel , valve stem or rim.
Those air pressure monitor TPMS systems aren't worth the trouble for many drivers that check their tire air pressure regularly anyways. So I would reprogram it into the ';disable'; mode.
then the monitor is broken !!!
ok well first off there is no way to tell you how much your tire will leak with a nail in it... way to many possible answers, depending on where the nail is to how big the nail is, are you driving on the tire or is is stiing.... you see the problem... If it's got a nail fix it...

as for your tire pressure monitor system, it could be a number of things even a faulty sensor. Here is what I would do. You can have your tires filled with dry nitrogen it will help. it doesn't have any moisture and is not going to change pressure with driving and outside tempratures.

Sounds like your tires are right on the marginof setting off your low tire waring. I would imagine that you live in either a hot of cold enviroment. I'm betting cold.

If you check your tires when it's cold the pressure is going to be lower then a warmed up tire. The pressure will slightly increase with a warm tire.

Also check to make sure that your valve stem core is tight. If the tires were just put on the car then definately check there first. Tire shops remove the valve stem core and air the tire with out the stem core in them and then they install it.. if it's not sight then it will bleed air...

Good luck!!!
It could be a small leak from the bead of the tire or a very small object. There's no way of saying how much air should be lost. It depends on what kind of tires, what punctured the tire, what angle it went in etc...

Best thing is to take it to a tire shop. If everything is good there, have the dealer check your sensors.
