Start with a good base coat and follow that with two thin coats of your color. Let each coat dry before putting a next coat on. Follow that up with a clear top coat.
Hint: To make your polish stay on a little better, clean each nail off with a little alcohol. This will remove the natural oils from the nail.
If your polish is a little old, it will be on the thick side also. This will also make your polish look chunky or uneven.
How do I put nail polish on my nails without making it look chunky or uneven?
Sometimes if a bottle of nail polish is old and a little goopy, it's virtually impossible to avoid globs. Extra-cheap nail polish may take several coats to look right. A $5 or more bottle of nail polish, freshly opened, usually requires 2 coats for even colour. Adding a top coat gives you a little more shine and usually makes the colour last a little longer.
As you take the brush out of the bottle, run it up the inside of the bottle neck, first on one side of the brush and then on the other. That way, you will get rid of the excess nail polish on the brush, reducing the odds of a drippy blobby mess.
Start each brushstroke at the base of the nail and brush with a slow, gentle stroke towards the tip. Every 2-4 strokes, dip back into the bottle and adjust the amount of nail polish on the brush again.
Let the first coat dry all the way, then apply a second or a top coat if needed. Top coat can be brushed on a little faster than colours without messing it up.
If you have trouble keeping your hands steady, sit down at a table to do your nails. How do I put nail polish on my nails without making it look chunky or uneven?
+first you trim your nails not too short but all even
+clean out all the dirt
+start painting
- one nail at a time
- one layer at a time
- very thin layers
- do a lot of layers at a time
- minimum of 3-5 layers
- maximum of 7 if you have the time . [[ depends on color too ]]
- wait for the nails todry before doing the next layer or at least semidry
after you've done all of that
+wait for it to the point where you can touch the nail polish and nothing will stain your finger
- then finally top it with a clear nail polish
-two layers :D
then they should be PERFECT .
You have to use long strokes- you can't put a lot of nail polish on the brush!! That is the one thing people do. They put too much because they think it will look darker. Although, don't apply to little-- just enough to cover the nail. After you apply that one THIN coat, if you want it darker, apply a second coat using long strokes. You may want to apply a third coat, but doing so may make it chunky.
before applying clean your nails with polish remover, even if you don't have left over polish. This helps remove the oils that make polish chip. Then apply polish in long, slow strokes. Aim for only three strokes per nail. Wait until the first coat is completely dry before applying the next.
Just make sure your nailpolish is fresh and new. If it's started to thicken you'll have a hard time applying it on your nails, and therefore it'll look good.
There are inexpensive brands of nailpolish in the drugstore that dry for 60 seconds. No smudges, no wait, no chucky nails. Try'em, you'll like'em:)
Well, first of all, you can't buy a cheap nail polish. Secondly, it's all in the stroke.
Start with one bold stroke in the middle, then do both sides. Don't over brush it, but do put on two coats. A nice top coat leads to a great shine, as well.
Long even strokes. Only do one coat at a time. If you try to brush on more while the polish is still went, it will get chunky. Also, the quality of your nail polish counts.
get hard as nails, sally hansen, one coat, and push back your cuticles. unfortunately it takes lots of practice.
If the polish is already chunky add a bit of remover to it. Never shake polish just roll it between your palms.
Put a little bit of acetone in the polish.. Shake real good before using.
Any way, it rarely does.
