The nail barely broke the skin. It started bleeding, so I cleaned it with some Hydrogen Peroxide. Then I put some Linamint on it. Then I put some aloe vera gel on it. I want to know the symptoms of what happens when you don't get a tetnus shot. Because I don't think there is anything wrong with me, but I have to be sure. I don't want to have to get anything cut off. While working outside, I stepped on a nail. It went threw my shoe, and penetrated the bottom of my foot.?
It's a good idea to get a tetanus shot if you haven't had one in the past ten years. And then *keep* it up to date, if you're even remotely active working/hiking/gardening/playing outdoors or around animals (including pets). It's not that bad a shot, there are very few reports of serious side effects (unlike for example the smallpox vaccinations) and it protects you for ten years from a very painful and still often fatal disease. Why people not bother to keep themselves vaccinated against tetanus is a mystery to me, really! While working outside, I stepped on a nail. It went threw my shoe, and penetrated the bottom of my foot.?

If I were u I'd go get the shot, prevention beats the hell outta the cure. Lockjaw?
go get it checked out
The same thing happened to me, and my mom still took me to the doctor to get a tetnus shot, even though I told her that I would be fine. If I were you, I'd go get a Tetnus shot, just to be sure. You don't want to die of lockjaw, do you?
