How do you install a carpet strip? which way does it nail down?

Nail down the strip with the tacks pointing towards the wall. Usually there are arrows too. Point them at the wall. Install the strip about 1/4'; from the wall or baseboard. How do you install a carpet strip? which way does it nail down?

Tacks up.
LOL! The spike strip goes up. They are nailed down.
Install strip so that angled spikes point toward the wall, one quarter to three eighths from wall,(depending on thickness of carpet. End wise the strips should be butted together with little or no space between ends.strip must be around all carpet cut edges,( toilets,doorjambs,etc..., ) for curves cut small pieces and leave gap @ ends of small pieces. If installing on concrete you'll need to sink the concrete nail in one or two shots (this takes a little practice). Be careful spikes can hurt you in a couple of different ways. Good luck ********** 26 years in flooring business.
