My cousin swollowed a nail and it wont come out. He is really scared what should I tell him?

my husband swollowed a needle when he was younger and he pass it in his stools.

When he hears a clink in the pan the nail will be out if a little rusty. Nothing to worry about
Its possible that his stomach acids will dissolve it.If not? Tell him to be carefull when wiping his ****.Extra strong loo paper might be an idea too. Maybe Izal,. [if you remeember that stuff?],would be an idea :P
well they might have to go in and get it! or let it take it's corse down the ';tunnels'; and he can poop it out! It has been done before!
Ram a magnet up his ar*e tied to a piece of string it should do the trick, if it doesnt he may find he likes it anyway

What YOU should have done immediately is tie a piece of string to a magnet get him to swallow it and retract the nail, easy when you know how.

Well, if he's been x-rayed and they didn't do anything, then he probably doesn't need to worry.
I would think there would be a danger of the nail poking a hole in his intestines or colon. If that happens he is in for a lot of trouble.


Surly if it showed on the x-ray, the doctor knows the danger.


I hope every thing works out OK for him, but if it were me, I'd be worried. He could end up with a colostomy and that's not fun.

if he went to the doctor then the doctor has told him everything he needs to know
if they doctor did nothing then he obviously thinks in time the nail will pass through his system naturally
If it is a large metal nail, then it probably needs to be removed, as if it has a sharp point, it will not come out very naturally! But if its a small (a centimetre perhaps) nail, then it may come out naturally, but with some pain. It is best to get it removed though, as the point is probably sharp.
unless it's causing him an obstruction in his airway, then it's fine it will probably pass out when he uses the toilet

It will come on out if it has passed his actual stomach. That is the general rule: if it passes through the stomach, it will pass through the intestines.
