How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?

I have multiple canisters of nail polish from the year 2000, etc. I don't know whether to trash it or whether it's still usable.

Please advise as to the ';lifetime'; of nailpolish. How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?
theres no expire date, just open it and see if its still runny and puts on smooth..if it seems sticky or thick that its no good anymore. some nail polish will last longer depending on the brandname, and if you kept it in proper place that wasnt too hot or cold. How long should i keep my nail polish for before throwing it away?
alot of nail poilish should say on the back the exp. date. but most are 24 months. I would throw the really old ones.
It depends on the consistency of the polish...If it is sticky and gooey trash it! Otherwise it should be fine!
keep your polish go get some nail polish thinner from the beauty supply store you never have to throw it out.for a cheaper way out use pure acetone
usually its good till you cant use it....(getting out of container,or painting your nails)
If it looks like it's the same consistency as when you bought it, there's no reason not to wear it.
Throw it away. Polish is good for no more than two years. It gets thick and nearly unusable.

After a certain time, fungus or bacteria can get trapped in the bottle and transferred to your nails. Old polish also tends to stain your nails worse.
2-3 years. So I'd throw out the ones you still have from 2000. However, here's a trick I learned (and that works!) with nail polish that may not be old but is thick: pour no more than one to two drops of nail polish remover into the nail polish, close the polish back up and shake it. Then when you go to apply the polish, it's no longer sticky-like or thick anymore. However, you have to be extremely careful you don't over-pour the remover because otherwise it'll change the color of the polish.
